Biography |
Wayne grew up in Hong Kong and Australia and holds an Economics degree from the University of Sydney. He began his career in the finance industry as an investment analyst and advisor with a leading Australian Investment Bank.
In 1987, Wayne was appointed Managing Director of the combined Australian operations of Midland Bank and Samuel Montagu, developing a fully integrated Investment Bank with over 300 staff. In 1991, he orchestrated a merger in Australia with Swiss Bank Corporation (now UBS Warburg).
He moved to Hong Kong in 1994 to run SBC’s Asia Pacific businesses and had responsibility for 1,500 staff in 14 locations throughout the region.
He also joined the Bank’s Investment Banking Board in Zurich. In his role as Chief Executive of SBC in both Australia and Asia, he was responsible for a significant funds management business.
In 1995, Wayne left SBC and founded Allard Partners to pursue his belief in growth opportunities for investors in the Asia Pacific region at a time of significant structural change.
In addition to being responsible for the overall direction of the firm, Wayne also focuses on identifying investment opportunities in Hong Kong and China where he lived for more than 15 years. |
